An e-Vignette must be purchased for the following type of vehicles:

Category 3

Road vehicles designed for the transportation of passengers with no more than eight (8) seats, road vehicles designed for the transportation of loads and/or road vehicles designed for the transportation of passengers and loads, including with a trailer, with a technically admissible maximum mass of up to 3,5 tons as well as the all-terrain vehicles from this group.

What is an electronic vignette (e-Vignette)?

e-Vignette is an electronic document within the meaning of Article 3, paragraph 1 of the Electronic Document and Electronic Certification Services Act, which certifies the payment of a vignette fee for use of the Republican Road Network in the Republic of Bulgaria for a certain period of time. The control for purchased e-Vignette shall be carried out by stationary and mobile cameras, by detecting the registration plate numbers of the vehicles.
For which categories of road vehicles is it necessary to purchase an e-Vignette?
An e-Vignette must be purchased for all road vehicles using the Republican Road Network designated for tolling, except for motorcycles

e-Vignette must be purchased for:
- Road vehicles Category 1: heavy goods vehicles with two or more axles and with a total weight of 12 t or more
- Road vehicles Category 2: heavy goods vehicles with 2 axles and a total weight from 3.5 to 12 t and buses with more than 8 seats without the driver's seat
- Road vehicles Category 3: passenger cars, light goods vehicles with a total weight of up to 3.5 t
- Road vehicles Category 3: structurally designed to pull: trailers and caravans
Can I buy e-Vignette from today?

Yes, the electronic vignette becomes valid from the moment of payment of the corresponding amount and receipt of confirmation of successful purchase via an electronic vignette receipt in PDF format.
How earlier can I purchase an e-Vignette?

You can purchase an e-Vignette not earlier than 30 days from its initial validity date.
Should I purchase an e-Vignette for a trailer/caravan?Should I purchase an e-Vignette for a trailer/caravan?

When the total weight of a car + trailer/caravan exceeds 3.5 t, then the purchase of the e-Vignette Category 3 for a trailer/caravan is required. The e-Vignette for the trailer/caravan may be different from the e-Vignette for the vehicle.
Do I need to purchase an e-Vignette for a heavy goods vehicle or for a bus?

Yes, the e-Vignette must also be paid for road vehicles over 3.5 t, and this fee being applicable until 15 August 2019. After that date, road vehicles of Category 1 and 2 will pay a toll, based on distance traveled.
I own an annual vignette sticker for a truck whose validity expires after 15.08.2019. Can I get my money back?

I want to purchase e-Vignettes for motor vehicles owned by a legal entity. Can I get a VAT invoice?

The vignette fee is a state fee and no VAT is charged on the amount paid. For your purchase, you will receive a receipt for the electronic vignette, representing an electronic document within the meaning of Article 3, para 1 of the Electronic Document and Electronic Signature Act. The electronic vignette receipt will include the vehicle registration plate number, e-Vignette validity period, initial validity date, e-Vignette ID number, vehicle category and emission class.
Can I refuse the purchase of an electronic vignette?

No, that's impossible. If an electronic vignette is activated, it cannot be denied. Important: In case of incorrectly entered data and activated e-Vignette, the amounts you have paid are not subject to refund.
I bought an electronic vignette, but I've entered the wrong registration plate number. Is it possible my purchase to be canceled and to refund the amount paid?

No, that's impossible. The responsibility for the correctness of the declared and registered data is assumed by the customer/user/third party - the buyer. In case of incorrectly entered data and activated e-Vignette, the amounts you have paid are not subject to refund.

I have already purchased a vignette sticker with validity period that expires after 1 January 2019. Should I buy an electronic vignette?

If a valid vignette sticker is available on 01.01.2019, you must submit an application for transformation of the vignette sticker into an electronic vignette from 17.12.2018 to 31.01.2019. The application, complemented by a declaration of data authenticity, should be submitted electronically or on the desk to the respective Road Infrastructure Agency Unit. Can I check the validity of my e-Vignette?

You can check the validity of your e-Vignette by entering the registration number of your vehicle at www.bgtoll.bg the website of the National Toll Directorate, part of the Road Infrastructure Agency.
What document will I receive after purchasing an e-Vignette?

Your will receive an “Electronic vignette receipt”, which contains the data specified by the vehicle user or owner for the registration plate number and country of registration of the vehichle, its category, the emissions class (only applicable for heavy vehicles over 3.5 tons and buses) and the validity period of the e-Vignette. The vehicle data must be filled in correctly. You will not receive refunds for activated e-Vignettes with incorrect data.

If you log in as a registered user or as a guest in www.a1.bg and have provided a valid e-mail, you will receive a receipt for your electronic vignette in a PDF format on this email. In case you did not provide an email you can still download the receipt on your device after you complete the purchase.
Can I check if my e-Vignette has been activated?

You can check if your e-Vignette has been activated by entering the registration number of your vehicle at www.bgtoll.bg the website of the National Toll Directorate, part of the Road Infrastructure Agency.
I purchased an е-Vignette on www.a1.bg, but the registration number I entered is wrong. Is it possible to annul the purchase and receive a refund?

No, this is not possible. The client/user/third-party buyer is responsible for providing correct registration data. If the data is incorrect and an e-Vignette has been activated, you cannot receive a refund.
How can I purchase and pay for the electronic vignette?

When purchasing an e-Vignette on www.a1.bg or in the My A1 app, you can pay with a credit/debit card. In A1 stores you can pay cash, or with a credit/debit card.
What should I do if the payment is not successful or the e-Vignette cannot be activated due to technical problems?

If your payment is unsuccessful due to an insufficient amount of funds, you will have the opportunity to enter another credit/debit card. The data you entered will not be lost.

If your vignette cannot be activated immediately due to technical issues, you can use the “Try again” button. If the problem persist and the activation is not possible, click the “Refund” button to get a refund.
How long does it take to purchase an e-Vignette using the website?
Buying an e-Vignette online requires 3 easy steps:
- Selecting a vehicle type
- Entering the required data and confirmation
- Payment with a debit or credit card
Do I have to be a registered user, in order to purchase an e-Vignette using the A1 website?

It is not necessary to have an account in the My A1 portal. You can make purchases as a guest. If you are using A1 services, but you don’t have an account, you can register now and keep the data for your purchases.
I am a corporate customer. How can I purchase vignettes for the company vehicles?

You can purchase e-Vignettes from our website at www.a1.bg, the My A1 app or in the A1 stores.
Will there be an option to purchase through the Business portal at www.a1.bg?

No, purchases via the Business portal will not be possible. You can purchase electronic vignettes from www.a1.bg as a guest or as a registered user.
I am using a free sticker. How can I use these preferences now, when only electronic vignettes are valid?

I purchased an e-Vignette for your store. Should I keep the receipt and will I need to present it to law enforcement agencies.

No, it is not necessary to keep the receipt. No law enforcement agency will request it for inspection.
Which government agencies will verify the purchase of an electronic vignette?

The purchase of an electronic vignette will be controlled by the National Toll Directorate, the Ministry of Interior Affairs, as well as the National Customs Agency in case the vehicle is leaving the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria through a border checkpoint.
Do I need to carry a paper copy of the document, certifying that I have purchased an electronic vignette?

No, that will not be necessary.
